Designing an approachable brand for a family law practice
Tyas Family Law PC
Tyas Family Law PC is a Toronto-based family law practice founded by Julie Tyas. Understanding that their clients are likely in stressful situations and finding it difficult to manage legal complexities, we were approached to design a brand and website that above all was warm, calming and approachable.
At the onset of the project, our first step was to conduct a virtual discovery session. The goal of this phase was to uncover background information, business objectives, audience demographics, the competitor landscape as well as the desired brand vision. This included brand personality, language and tone, and point of difference.

Following the discovery phase, we collaborated with Julie and her team on a brand mood board that included preliminary colours, visuals and brand elements to inspire our design work. An important step to ensure that we all shared a unified vision.
We then developed what would be the final Tyas Family Law identity, including the brand purpose and voice, primary and secondary logos, font system, colours and layouts.
Building on our brand work, we crafted a website plan including a detailed sitemap, content strategy and SEO recommendations. This informed our web design work, where we created wireframes, master components, hi-fidelity screens and a user prototype.
The Tyas Family Law website is a prospective clients’ first touchpoint with the brand, so it had to be welcoming, informative and easy to navigate.
Stephanie and the team at Bare Brand approached the branding of my new business with enthusiasm, professionalism and transparency (both in terms of the fees and expectations).
