Relaunching an intuitive digital experience for a charitable organization

The mission of the Toronto Public Library Foundation is to inspire generous people who care about our city to amplify Toronto Public Library’s work. Since its inception in 1997, and thanks to generous donors, the Foundation has raised over $100 million for TPL. These donations have a resounding impact on those who rely on the Library’s programs, services and spaces.

As the Foundation's agency of record, we work to support their mission by creating compelling, branded content for distribution in print and across all digital channels. More recently, on the heels of a rebrand at TPL, we were asked to reimagine the user experience on tplfoundation.ca.

Considerations included working within the brand guidelines to apply the new visual identity to a donor-centric digital experience. Additionally, years of site content required reorganization and simplification to more clearly articulate the foundation's priorities, and to make donating online more accessible.

We began with a site audit and reimagined the information architecture – delivering a new sitemap and user flow for stakeholder buy-in. From there, we designed a new user interface, including an omnipresent donation widget and a simplified navigation. To bring this project to life, we worked closely with the Foundations’ web development team from briefing, to quality assurance and final content support.

Bare Brand brought some of their best work to the table at this year’s Biblio Bash – original ideas, clear project management, timely turnarounds and a polished final delivery. At each touchpoint, our guests were surprised and delighted by the theme and special details.
